ITINERARY

1Welcome to Santa Barbara!

  • Check in with your Travel Leader and pick up your bike and accessories
  • Start your ride into the mountains of the Santa Ynez Valley where you’ll view vineyards, ranchland, and rolling countryside
  • Stop to sample Syrah and have a picnic at one of the area’s top wineries before arriving in the town of Los Olivos and checking in at your hotel
  • Enjoy a wine tasting before dinner
Suggested Itinerary Enhancements:
  • Stop for photos of the amazing wine country landscape
  • Stroll through the charming and historic town of Los Olivos
  • Relax in the hotel’s garden or take a dip in the heated pool

2Bike ride through California’s Central Coast

  • Today, you’ll be back on the bike, pedaling along rural roads with views of vineyards, horse farms, and fields of lavender
  • Visit the unique and lovely town of Solvang (considered the “Danish Capital of America”)
  • Enjoy a delicious Mediterranean-inspired lunch
  • Ride back to the hotel, enjoying more of the scenery along the way
  • Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure before dinner

3Ballard Canyon, Santa Barbara, and depart for home

  • After a hearty breakfast, you’ll ride through the rolling hills of Ballard Canyon (a favorite route for time trials in the Tour of California) as we make our way back to Santa Barbara
  • Have lunch and wine in the garden of one of the local tasting rooms before saying goodbye
  • Head back to the hotel for your flight home
  • Start dreaming of your next vacation
