For this trip, you’ll enjoy two nights of deluxe accommodations at one of Napa Valley’s premiere hotels, one night in beautiful Healdsburg in the Russian River Valley region of Sonoma, and three amazing, curated experiences designed to make this California wine vacation truly unforgettable. 

First, enjoy an elegant dinner aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train, which departs Napa at 6:20pm for a two-hour, round-trip journey through the valley. This unique experience is available most Saturdays and some Fridays and harkens back to the romance and luxury of the golden age of train travel. Relax in the comfort of two stylishly refurbished antique Pullman rail cars while enjoying lounge service and a multi-course gourmet meal of seasonal dishes made with fresh, local produce and meats. In warmer months, you’ll have amazing views of Napa Valley vineyards bathed in golden hour sunlight, while in winter, you’ll experience the coziness of traveling through the starlit Napa Valley night. Whichever time of year you visit, it’s a great way to kick off your getaway.

The second planned experience is a full-day guided bike tour along the Napa Valley Vine Trail, a 12.5-mile, car-free bike path that runs between Napa and Yountville. With an experienced tour guide leading the way, you’ll pedal past rows of vineyards, learn more about the history of the valley and the vine-to-bottle process, and visit two local wineries for tastings and tours. This roundtrip excursion starts and ends in Yountville and includes the use of electric bikes for the day—perfect for all fitness levels—as well as a special wine country picnic, catered by Chef Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery. This tour is an excellent way to experience the vineyards and immerse yourself in the beautiful Napa Valley landscape. 

For the third experience, we’ve arranged a private full-day wine tour in Sonoma Valley with an experienced driver and guide. You’ll be picked up from your Napa hotel for a scenic drive to the quaint town of Healdsburg, located along the Russian River in the heart of Sonoma, about an hour north of Napa. There you will spend the day visiting three boutique wineries for tastings and tours, while learning more about the wine-making process. You’ll also have time to explore Healdsburg’s charming town plaza filled with shops, restaurants, and galleries. And at the end of the tour, you’ll spend the night in one of the town’s luxury hotels before heading back to San Francisco the next morning.

Between the included excursions, you can relax and enjoy the beautiful wine country landscape or do some exploring on your own. The Napa Valley region is home to miles of walking trails, rivers and lakes that are perfect for boating and kayaking, championship golf courses, and dozens of museums and galleries that are worth a visit while you’re here.
