National Plan for Vacation Day 2022
The new year often brings new opportunities to travel and daydreams of leisurely vacations with family and friends. And there’s no better time to start planning your getaway—and making those dreams a reality—than on National Plan for Vacation Day on January 25.
This annual holiday, celebrated on the last Tuesday of each January, was started by the U.S. Travel Association in 2017 as part of their Project: Time Off initiative to encourage workers to plan out their vacation time for the year and inspire them to use those days to visit destinations within the US.
According to Destination Analysts, 2021:
• 91% of Americans say it’s important to use their paid time off to travel
• 79% of Americans believe vacations are important to their overall health and wellbeing
• And the three-quarters of Americans who took time to plan out their paid time off for the year were more likely to use their time off to travel in 2021
Happily, vacation planning isn’t limited to January 25. But to honor the day, celebrate the joys of travel, and get you thinking about your own travel plans for the upcoming year, here are three custom-crafted trips we’ve planned for 2022 that we think you’ll love. Year-round Lakeside Getaway in Beautiful Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Three Days of Music, Food, and Fun in Nashville, Tennessee
If cities had soundtracks, none of them would sound quite like Nashville’s. Music City combines country, bluegrass, rock, pop, Americana, gospel, classical, jazz, and blues—all in perfect harmony—to create one of the best places in the world to remember music’s greatest performers, see today’s top artists, and maybe even discover the next big thing.
Mountain Luxury and Small-Town Charm in Crested Butte, Colorado
Nestled in the West Elk Range of the Rocky Mountains, Crested Butte is one of the last true Colorado ski towns. There are no traffic lights, chain stores, or high-rise buildings here, but there’s plenty of small-town charm—along with a cool, laid-back vibe—to go around.
